For Individuals

You’re not broken. Your brain just runs different.

Somatic, depth-based therapy for neurodivergent individuals navigating overwhelm, masking, freeze, or a brain that never came with an instruction manual.

Does this sound familiar?

Maybe you just found out you’re neurodivergent, or you’ve suspected it for years and finally said it out loud. Maybe you’re the one who’s always forty-five minutes late, always the one apologizing, doing the math on how much energy you have left before the day’s even started. Maybe you’ve read the books. Watched the reels. Sat across from a therapist, explained your brain to them, and watched them nod without quite getting it. And somewhere underneath all of that is a quieter, older belief: that if you just tried a little harder, organized a little better, masked a little more convincingly, you’d finally catch up to everyone else.

You won’t. Nothing is wrong with you. You were never running the same race.

What’s actually going on underneath

Work, friendships, home: they’ve all started to blur into one long low hum of too much, all at once. You keep apologizing for the same handful of things: lateness, forgetting, shutting down mid-conversation, without ever landing on why it keeps happening or how to actually change it. From the outside it might look like you’re managing fine. From the inside, the masking is closer to a full-time job, and underneath it, more often than anyone would guess, it’s closer to desperation than composure. You are not broken, and your brain is not something to white-knuckle into submission. The pattern has a root. Once you can actually see it, it stops running the show.

What shifts

You feel the overwhelm building and, for the first time, you have somewhere to put it before it takes you over completely.

You catch yourself starting the old ‘I’m broken’ thought, and you’re able to swap it for ‘this is just how my brain works,’ and actually believe it.

You stop bracing for your own reactions. The self-criticism that used to run in the background gets quieter.

Something spikes at work, at home, in your own head, and you reach for a tool instead of reaching for shutdown or scrolling.

Work, relationships, and home stop feeling like three separate fires. The pattern underneath all of them finally has somewhere to land.

Ways we can work together

Relationship Triage Session (60 or 90 minutes). First aid for your own regulation. We assess the current landscape, identify the core loop, and you leave with immediate tools and a clear map for what comes next. Most clients say this single session shifted something months of other therapy hadn’t.

Weekly Sessions (Ongoing). Steady, building work at a pace that allows for real integration. Most clients see meaningful change within 4–8 sessions.

Repair Intensive (2 to 4 Consecutive Days). The container that changes things fastest. We move at the speed of real change instead of waiting a week between sessions. Right for you if you’re in crisis, you’ve hit a ceiling in therapy, or you want to give this everything before deciding what’s next.

What Clients Say

“Working with Meris has genuinely changed my life. She has this grounded, almost cosmic understanding of the human condition that makes you feel both understood and deeply safe. If you’re looking for a therapist in Vancouver, or anywhere, who elevates what therapy can be, Meris is one of the strongest I know.”

– Josh Green

“I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with Meris for several years now. Along with her enthusiasm and zest for life, Meris has an innately grounding presence, and a gift for asking the questions that bring about deeper and more meaningful discourse. Meris has a preternatural capacity for empathy, and the compassion she has for her clients is world-changing. She offers the deeply significant gift of feeling seen, and in dark times, I’ve felt that Meris loves me more than I love myself.”

– Genevieve Moise

“I cannot recommend Meris enough. I always feel so welcomed, affirmed, and accommodated as a late diagnosed AuDHD individual navigating the impacts of past relationships and complex trauma, as well as the overlap between mental and physical health and wellbeing.

I have had a lot of trial and error with counsellors, especially when it comes to finding support that actually aligns with my unique brain, spectrum of needs, and lived experiences, and that does not dysregulate or set me back even more. Working with Meris has felt very different in the best way.

Meris has such a grounding presence, and you can feel her genuine compassion. It also helps that she has lived experience, which makes me feel even more seen and understood.

What stands out most is how affirming, knowledgeable, and adaptable Meris’ approach is. She really takes into account what works for you specifically, offers options, and adjusts her approach accordingly, which is such an important part of truly inclusive care. She also encourages curiosity and experimentation, reminding me that it’s okay to try things on, keep what works, and leave behind what doesn’t. There is never pressure to force an approach that isn’t a good fit, and that has helped me build much more trust in both the process and myself.

Her reassurance and affirmations are incredibly grounding yet powerful, consistently reinforcing safety, validating the work I’m doing, and supporting gentle reframing of core beliefs as things come up. It doesn’t feel generic, it’s much more personal and meaningful, and it’s the kind of support I’ve honestly needed for a long time.

One of the most refreshing things about working with Meris is that she genuinely encourages you to be yourself. As someone who constantly worries or ruminates about saying things the “right” way or whether I’m approaching something correctly, I really appreciate how often she reminds me that there is no “right” way to do the work. That reassurance helps me let go of some of that pressure and focus on finding what actually works for me.

What I appreciate most is that Meris doesn’t just talk about these things, she helps you practice them. Sometimes that means trying something a little uncomfortable, leaning into humour, being silly, or doing things that help reinforce what we’re talking about in a way that actually sticks. She creates space for people to be truly human, and it has been incredibly healing. I leave sessions feeling not only supported and understood, but truly seen, accepted, and more comfortable being myself without constantly worrying about whether I’m doing things “right.”

Finding a counsellor who is both neurodiversity-affirming and genuinely adaptable can be incredibly difficult. I am so grateful for the support, understanding, and care Meris has provided, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to others looking for a counsellor who provides compassionate, individualized, and genuinely inclusive & affirming care.”

You don’t need the right language for this yet. Maybe you’re reading this at your desk with fourteen tabs open, or at 2am because your brain finally went quiet enough to think, or on your fifth scroll through something else entirely because sitting with this directly feels like too much right now. Any of those counts as the right moment. You don’t need a diagnosis, a tidy explanation, or a plan already worked out. You just need to reach out.
